1. BDS
The student is encouraged to involve himself in discussions with the teacher-in-charge. New skills are imparted through chair-side demonstrations and asking the student to emulate the same principles in his clinical practice. Didactic teaching continues during both the third and final years of the bachelor's course. Besides a formal, subjective system for evaluation in the form of terminal and professional examinations, informal, objective question based exercises and self-learning modules are also encouraged so that the student can try and discover newer aspects of the subject without any anxiety.
Objectives are:
To train the students to diagnose the common disorders of Orofacial region by clinical Examination and with the help of such investigations as may be required and medical management of oro-facial disorders with drugs and physical agents.
To train the students about the importance, role, use and techniques radiographs/digital radiograph and other imaging methods in diagnosis

1. MDS
A Comprehensive 3 years full time Postgraduate Training programme leading to the degree of MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) in Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Radiology. Students are trained to conduct Research / Clinical studies.
Spanning over a period of three years, the master's course aims not only to guide the student in the methodology of research, but at the same time orient him to the current state of knowledge in the specialty with its lacunae. Thus activities are directed at trying to address controversial issues and to create in roads into areas that have not been investigated as yet. The care of patients is an equally important goal and the post graduate student is given ample clinical exposure to hone his skills.
Besides these, the academic schedule is designed to include seminars, journal club presentations, case presentations and a dissertation. The Postgraduate Students also undergo clinical posting in Head and Neck Oncology, General Medicine, ENT, Hematology, General Pathology, Microbiology, Dermatology, Preventive & Social Medicine and Pediatrics as prescribed by DCI. All the Post graduate students are required to update themselves through continuing education programs and through an active participation at national conferences and conventions. A post graduate student is also entrusted with the responsibility of supervising both the pre-clincal and clinical divisions of the under graduate students. The trainees are provided an opportunity to work and learn Hospital based Dentistry and participate in Teaching /Learning programme. Through these exercises, the student is taught to imbibe adequate skills for a future career in teaching. A formal evaluation system ensues at the end of the three year session and includes theoretical as well as clinical examinations.
