The paramedic is person who is trained to provide medical care along with carrying out prescribed emergency medical treatment to patients who are seriously ill. Aim of care is towards stabilizing them before and after they are taken to the hospital. Role of paramedics is very close to health care position. with the view to have trained and efficient paramedics for society, KGMU Institute of Paramedical Sciences has been established with a goal to be a touchstone in the field of Paramedical Training.
History -
UP Govt through UP State Medical Faculty has given permission to start twelve paramedical diploma courses in King George’s Medical University (vide letter no. 9573/14 dated 30.10.14)
The first organized batch of paramedical students of this institute was started in 2015 with administrative structure having twelve Nodal officers, one each in all diploma courses, Academic in charge and Clinical coordinator. KGMU Institute of Paramedical sciences is allotted space in Kalam Centre
Diploma in Blood Transfusion Technician course added in year 2017-2019 & Diploma in Anesthesia and Critical Care Technician course has also been added for year 2021-2022.
Presently we have 14 diploma courses which is running under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor and Dean Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, we have a good administrative structure having 14 Nodal Officers, 22 Demonstrators, 14 Computer Operators
Dean office has additional administrative staff for running faculty of paramedical sciences smoothly.
